What to do in an emergency

We would like to remind patients that:-

  • Advice regarding illnesses, minor injuries, and what to do about them can be obtained by telephoning NHS 111 Service which replaces the NHS Direct service.
  • ’On the day’ advice and consultations regarding illnesses and minor injuries can also be obtained by calling Oak Street Medical Practice on 01603 613431 – during surgery hours.  However, after the surgery is closed you will need to call NHS 111 Service, Calls made direct to 111 either from a mobile or a landline are free of charge.
  • If, however, you consider that your medical problem may be very serious and requires urgent hospital treatment, you should attend the A&E department at NNUH
  • In the case of extreme emergencies, dial ‘999’.
